Hey, beautiful people! This week's post is a poem going along with the topic we have been discussing "The Season where all Things are New." Because I am a writer who writes with purpose, I am not in the business of throwing together a devotional style post. So this week I am taking a pause and posting this poem to set us up for next week's devotional post, which will be part 4 of our weekly discussion. The student in me is tired, the writer in me can be relentless, and Holy Spirit within me brings rest in all areas of my life, so I'm choosing to bask in rest this week. Grab your coffee, tea, or whatever drink suits your fancy, and let's see the direction Holy Spirit will be leading us for next week's post. Enjoy!
If entering a new season
was as easy as it looks,
wouldn’t we all be a
symphony of metamorphosis?
A cyclic wave of seeds,
roots, stems, buds, and
flowers in full bloom.
Not a florist shop or
a garden center:
where everything is on
the other side of growth,
but a field of flowers
and gardens yielding
flowers in different
seasons is what we are.
Not a bouquet of roses,
but a beautiful mess of
daisies, wild flowers,
sunflowers, tulips,
and many more.
We’re not the same,
but we all go through
the process of becoming
who we are.
We are planted, rooted,
nurtured, and then grow and
grow some more, until we reach
our full capacity of
being in “bloom.”
It’s not quick.
It’s not perfect, and
sometimes, it gets dirty.
But eventually,
we all bloom......
Maybe not in the same season,
but in due season,
we will await the bloom,
enjoy the journey of growth, and
when it is time, The Gardener
will prepare us to do it again.
