Today, I wanted to talk about Christ in us. It’s confusing to some people when I tell them that Jesus Christ lives in us, but let me explain….. In 2 Corinthians 13:5, the apostle Paul asks the Corinthian church a question: “Or do you not realize about yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you?”

Some people may find this phrase, “Jesus Christ is in you” a little surprising, or if you’re like me, I’ve read over it dozens of times without really meditating on it.

When Paul was talking here, he wasn’t speaking poetically or symbolically. Paul didn’t accidentally put it there either, he meant Jesus is living on the inside of you. Paul also tells us this in Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified WITH Christ, and it is no longer I who lives, but it is Christ who LIVES in me.”

I didn’t realize how significant it was to know this being a partaker of abundant life. I always thought that Jesus was only in heaven. There is no way He can live within me. I make mistakes, I fall short, and I slip up every once in a while. I had to realize my mess doesn’t scare Him. He died on the cross to show us that the Father and man are no longer separated. He’s not miserable in us. He enjoys living within us!!

Jesus isn’t far from you. As my dad says in his sermons, “ God is not somewhere 3 miles south of Mars, He lives in you.” You don’t have to beg Him, nor do you have to reach for Him because……. Why do you have to reach for Someone who has been IN YOU all along??? In Colossians 1 there was a mystery hidden from ages to generation, and it was also a mystery among the Gentiles. In the chapter, it goes on to tell us that the mystery reveal was “..... Christ in you, the hope of glory” So remember, when He said He would never leave us nor forsake us, He wasn’t kidding.

I hope you remember Jesus is always with you! He doesn’t change His mind about you. If God said that He chose you before the foundation of the world, then, believe me, you’re still chosen to this day!
