I Hope You Dance

Spending most of my life in dance and cheer, my coaches have taught me so many things. The number one thing I hold on to is... “if the music stops keep going,” or “if you mess up, smile and keep moving.” I believe I'll carry that with me for the rest of my life.
In life, there will be times the music will stop. There will be times when you mess up, but it’s how we choose to respond when the music stops and when you mess up. When the music stops, we could choose to stop, or we could keep going. When we mess up, we could choose to run off the stage/court, or we could burst out an impromptu grand jeté when dancing or a toe touch when cheering.
When we mess up it’s not the end of the world. We’re human. We WILL mess up. It’s like making mistakes are apart of our genetics.
I can only speak from experience. Life can throw some curveballs at you, and those curveballs can change the entire routine. You know your routine forward and backward, then you get on the court/stage and hit a hiccup, you forget the routine, but what will you do..? Will you stop, or will you continue to perform..?
Whatever you decide, I hope you dance.
