If I had a dollar for each time someone said, “You look just like your daddy,” I’d be rich without any doubt(that's my dad in the picture). That shouldn’t surprise anyone, including me. I am a part of this family. I am bound to look like one of them, or at least favor a hand full of them. But if I do say so myself, I think I look just like my daddy as well. The beautiful thing about it is that two people from opposite families come together and create an exact representation of what someone would look like with both families’ genetics. When I started thinking about how we all became about, the Holy Spirit took me back to the beginning.

In the beginning, when Papa God was making the entire universe, He made humans during this process as well. How He made us was quite different than the rest of creation. When God created light, He had to speak to the darkness and void. When God created fish and creatures of the sea, He had to speak to the waters. When God created beautiful sunflowers (my favorite), roses, daisies, dandelions, wildflowers, etc He had to speak to the ground. I could continue about how God spoke and then He saw, He spoke and then He saw, and He spoke and then He saw. Then, He called all of that good, but humans were more precious to him than that. When God created humans, He couldn’t speak to the ground, the sky, or the waters, but He spoke to Himself. In Genesis 1:26-27, it says, “26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” We are the only thing in creation that God put His hands upon. We were so precious that He had to speak to Himself and form us Himself.

In the past, I seemed to ask God, “Why do you love the human race the way that You do?” Or as David said in Psalm 8:4 (NKJV), “What is man that You are mindful of him….” We mess up, we fail, we persecute, we self-destruct, we step on our neighbors, we hold grudges, we judge, etc. We give Papa God so many reasons not to loves us, but He loves us anyway because we are simply His. We are sons and daughters of Papa God, and nothing will ever be able to change that. It doesn’t matter what you have done, not done, or what you are going to do in near future. None of it matters to the love of God. Romans 8:38-39 (TPT) says, “38 So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. 39 There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!” If nothing can separate you from Him, what makes you think He’s going to leave?

There has never been a time in your life that you were not on God’s mind. From the very beginning of time, we were on His mind. The Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 1:3-6 (NKJV) “3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Before you were ever born, you were accepted. Before the mess up, failure, judging, and before you ever stepped on your neighbor. And you know what’s also true? You were still accepted in the beloved after you messed up, failed, judged, and after you stepped on your neighbor. He chose to love you because you belong to Him.

When the father, son, and the holy spirit came together in the beginning to create humans, they brought everything that was a part of THEM, formed it, and called it man. It doesn’t matter who you are. He’s all and in all. Ephesians 4:6 tells us that “6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” We are products and representations of the trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). You are accepted in the beloved by Love Himself because you’re simply His. So don't be surprised when someone says, "You look just like your Daddy."
