The obstacles we have yet to face are lessons we have yet to learn. -CDWJ

Sunday afternoon, I went to lunch with some of my favorite people. I always have a good time with them. When we were at the table together, we were greeted by our waitress, who was so precious to me. She was a sweetheart, and looking from the outside; she seemed like the person you would long to have coffee with one day. After lunch, we made a few stops, and I decided to observe people (not in a creepy way) in small glances notice a small thing about them that sticks out to me. I could not find anything or anyone. That has never happened to me. I have always been able to find someone to write an anonymous letter to, but on Sunday afternoon, I couldn’t. While I was shoe shopping, I asked Holy Spirit, “why can’t I find someone to write for? What are You trying to tell me?” Holy Spirit said, “biscuits or cornbread?” I laughed, but then I remembered that our waitress at Cracker Barrel asked me if I wanted biscuits or cornbread. At that moment, Holy Spirit let me know that the following letter you write is for her. This post contains one letter. Enjoy.

Dear Cracker Barrel Waitress,

This too shall pass. Holy Spirit wanted me to speak that over your life. I do not know your situation in detail, but I can see that you are tired. I can see that through all of the pain, you choose to keep going. I can see that through it all, you continue to serve. None of your good deeds go unnoticed. Morgan Harper Nichols once said…

So wear your strongest posture now, and see your hardest times as more than just the times you fell but a range of mountains you learned to climb. -mhn

I do not know your story. I do not know your struggles, but I do know that with God, you will make it. Whatever you are going through will not overtake you. Let it be known that as you are sitting at the bottom of the mountain, you are not learning how to walk around it or telling it to move, yet you are learning how to climb.

From experience, I know that Holy Spirit is a teacher, and if He moves the mountain every time, what do we learn? What skills are we equipped with for the next mountain? When it comes to trials, it is not if; it’s when. Wherever you are now, I need you to get up and climb. Is it going to be easy? No. If it were easy, climbing would have been your first choice.

While you are climbing, remember that you cannot do it alone. God will be with you every step of the way. When He said that He would never leave us nor forsake us, He meant it. So keep climbing because even when you cannot see the other side of the mountain, remember: this too shall pass.

Sincerely,

The Stranger In The White Cap

ps. It’s okay to rest.
