I have decided to make this a permanent thing on my blog. Whenever I travel, go to new places, or meet new people, I make a mental note to write letters to them. These letters stay anonymous, and if you think one is about you, it probably is. I like for people to believe and imagine what I saw at that moment through my words. I hope you enjoy another segment of "Letters To Strangers."

Dear Starbucks Employee,

I see how hard you are working to please everyone, and it's okay if everyone got their drink before me. I hope that one day you realize that you were put in this position for a reason. Keep being a light, keep sowing seeds of joy, keep that big smile on your face because you never know who might need it. Thank you for being patient with others. Thank you for making my drink last. Because of that, I was able to see a gift that Papa God has placed within you. You have a heart for people and the gift of being patient when others are agitated. Darling, you are one of a kind.

Sincerely,

The Stranger In The Black Coat

To The Little Girl at The Souvenir Shop:

Whenever you were hiding in the clothes from your mama, you reminded me of a happy memory with my mama. I used to hide in the clothing racks thinking she couldn't see me, but she always knew where I was unbeknownst to me. Keep hiding in the clothing racks, keep being a kid, and keep showing that beautiful light that shines in your eyes. You have so much ahead of you, sweet girl. I wish you the best.

To The Little Boy Dancing In Walmart:

Please never lose the joy that you have. Your big smile and awesome dance moves made my heart smile bigger than my face could. Thank you for reminding me that in every moment, we can choose joy.

From The Smiling Stranger

Dear Escape Game Instructor,

I appreciate you for giving us clues as we struggled to escape. Thank you for guiding us and never leaving us hanging. When we became frustrated and wanted to skip a task, you calmly said, "I'm sorry. You have to go through it." That sounds like something Papa God would say. I know I have asked God to skip some parts of my journey because I did not want to feel the pain of heartache, but God has reminded me that I am in a season of learning. We may not want to hear it, but sometimes we need someone to say, "I'm sorry. You have to go through it." Thank you for that reminder.

Sincerely,

A Frustrated Stranger

Dear Emotional One:

I do not know why you are hurting, nor do I see the root of your tears. But I do know that whatever you felt at that moment was too overwhelming for your mouth to speak. I am glad you chose to let it out. I am so happy you realized that your feelings are valid. I hope you remember that it is okay to cry. Crying is not a sign of weakness. Crying is a sign of being human.

With Sympathy,

A Concerned Stranger
